A True Fairy Tale Wedding in Oahu March 1, 2016 14:50

Everyone has their own dreams for a Destination Wedding in Hawaii, some know exactly what they want, need and desire for that one big day of your life and others have no idea.

When Laura and Jonathan contacted us from England, UK it was clear that they wanted something very special, unique and memorable and we feel like we certainly created a true Fairy Tale Wedding for a Princess and her Prince.

There was no doubt that Laura was a huge Disney fan and she was so excited by all the little things that make a Wedding great, including her wish to have a Butterfly Release during the ceremony. A beautiful touch to remember the ones not with us.

They selected our appropriately named "A Fairy Tale Wedding" Package. It's our most comprehensive package and includes everything a couple could dream of for a Destination Wedding in Hawaii.

The Wedding was booked about a year in advance which gave us lots of time to plan everything. It all turned out just perfect.

The package included many of the following... A Beautiful Nosegay Bouquet with Brides Hair and Makeup, our Elegant White Stretched Limousine, Professional Photography and Videography, Our Arch and Chairs Package, Hula Dancer, Conch Shell Blower, Guitarist and lots more.

Waimanalo Bay Beach in Oahu was chosen as the Wedding locations which was voted America's #1 Beach for 2015!

The day was a huge success and we we're honored to be able to provide Laura and Jonathan with the best service possible. Our vendors went above and beyond to make the day one they will remember forever...

Laura and Jonathan originally met each other on Tinder, a popular online dating site decided to meet for a date in Oxford, England.

Read Laura and Jonathan's very own Fairytale below.

Laura & Jonathan's Story

Once upon a time, in a land far far away, we both swiped right and our Tinderella story began.

We decided to meet up in Oxford for a drink and we instantly hit it off. I told Jon my love for Disney and within a few hours of meeting, I had invited him to come along to Disney World later on in the year. Surprisingly he said yes.

A few weeks later, unbeknown to me, Jon brought an engagement ring and started hatching a plan to propose to me at my happiness place on earth.  As we began spending more time together, our relationship blossomed and we both captured each other’s hearts.

September arrived, and we were in Disney. After a day at the water park, I was shocked when Jon surprised me with a night at the Grand Floridian. We got to the hotel and got upgraded to a VIP room overlooking the castle. Jon seized the moment and got down on one knee, and inside a Winnie the Pooh trinket box was a beautiful diamond platinum ring.  It was a true fairy tale proposal and we finished the night watching the fireworks.

Why Hawaii

Within a few days of being engaged, we decided that we would get married in Hawaii. Both of our families are on the opposite ends of the planet and we figured Hawaii was half way between them- so it seemed an obvious choice.

On top of knowing Hawaii had fantastic weather, beautiful beaches and gorgeous scenery- there is also a Disney hotel, Aulani which I was desperate to visit. So we began planning for Hawaii.

Being in the U.K and trying to plan for something thousands of miles away initially proved challenging. We had no idea where to start, and other companies we had made enquires with were extremely slow in responding or didn't even bother at all!

We found Married with Aloha

I came across, Married with Aloha while searching the internet and from the first email I sent throughout the whole year of planning was just a dream.

"Nothing was a too much trouble - regardless of how daft our questions were"

Married with Aloha were extremely responsive, caring and provided us reassurance that our day was all organised and would go according to plan.

Our wedding day plans were all finalised just before we were due to fly and we were told by Married with Aloha to just enjoy our holiday prior to our Big Day as everything was all organized - and it was!

 Our Big Day

As expected on the morning of our wedding, the make up artist and photographer turned up to our villa. We wanted to maintain some form of tradition by not seeing each other the night before or morning of the wedding, so I remained with my family whilst Jon stayed with his.

The make up artist did a fabulous job, dolling me up like a princess whilst Bret, the photographer, captured these moments and the bridal party getting ready. By midday we were all set and the transportation arrived to take us to Waimanalo Beach.

As I stepped out of the limousine with my father at my side, holding my hand, in the distance I could see a beautiful arch caressed with flowers, looking stunning against Waimanalo Beach and turquoise water backdrop - my family looked back at me, and I felt immense happiness. As I started to walk down the petal aisle I became completely focused on Jon, everything else faded into a beautiful blur - even the waves and the music couldn't compete.

Our ceremony was conducted by Mark Turnasky, who did an excellent job, and after Jon and I exchanged our vows, we were finally married.

We finished the ceremony by releasing butterflies in remembrance to those back at our respective homes who couldn't be with us in Hawaii and those who sadly are not with us anymore.

It was truly amazing- and all recorded by the photographer and videographer.

Right on schedule, our transportation then arrived to take us all to our reception at Ko'olau Ballrooms for us to eat, drink and continue the celebrations.

Although, somewhere in transit between the Beach and the reception, my silver sparkly high heeled shoes went astray, I now believe the shoes did it on purpose to fit in with our theme...Cinderella.

After dancing the night away, and the clock nearly striking midnight, our final carriage awaited and whisked us off to the Disney hotel.

Our Honeymoon

After saying our goodbyes to family and friends, we left Oahu and Island hopped to Maui and Kona- Married with Aloha were still being as helpful as ever and providing us with recommendations on places to visit!

We then ended our Honeymoon with a trip to Disneyland in L.A on the way back to the U.K- a fitting end to magical 3 weeks.

Back in the U.K.

It took us a while to get back into the humdrum life back in the U.K- we were still in Hawaiian time! And whilst, we were finding getting back to reality a challenge, we were extremely excited to receiving our photos and video of our special day, so we could relive it all again- and they did not disappoint! They were simply stunning, and we couldn't ask for anything better. We will treasure them forever and will never forget our fairytale wedding.

And Finally...

We would both like to take this opportunity to thank Married with Aloha and their team for an amazing experience. They certainly added that extra special Pixie dust and organised an incredible day.

And they all lived happily ever after..

Love Jonathan and Laura x
